no, you are wrong. they can be rich, they can be insanely rich i dont care, but if they(dupers or players with duped armbraces) ever mess up with something that normally i can afford, i would get pretty pissed off.

I agree. If I could I'd ban all those fishy accounts which managed to outbid EVERYONE to make the item look more expensive...seems to me like they are all one person...

Well if you see someone doing something they shouldnt, do /report and inform Anet. I have to admit I dont have a clue what this post is about, but i get the impression its about an exploit?
If so, then how is Anet meant to catch people unless they are either reported or stupid enough to brag about it or use ebay and make reference to GWs.
Im sure it is wrong and it shouldnt be happening, but Anet cant police every city and website and watch what we all do 24/7. Some people are bound to get through the net and its not Anet's fault for being under staffed and probably low on funds.
If you want these people to get caught then its down to the community as a hole to police what people do. Unless you want to give Anet a huge financial pay off to help employ more people to watch the servers and trading websites?

I honestly believe there are people that are that rich, without ever duping anything... GW exists for over 2 years now, that is enough time to gather a nice amount of ectos and rare items. But since the duping thing a couple of months ago, you cant tell who duped, and who is legit, and that is just sad. I agree that the dupers should be punished, but not at the cost of players that got their panda's/crystalines/req7 items in an honest way...

The weird thing tho is that these mega high auctions never happened before the Duping Incident.

I have a lot of money... and this money cost me a lot of time and i dont want to wast this money in useless stuff...
The point is... who have a lot of money from legal sources not stupid to buy overpriced stuff...
Everytime i see someone trying to sell something overpriced i laught because who have more 100k not stupid to buy something superoverpriced...
The time of 100k xxx ectos over... only few things cost more 100k... i have 30 rangers heros... 20 of them have dead bow 15 or 14^ 19/20 or 20/20 29/30 hp the others have + dazed stuff only from buying it from unden itens... i remember the time dead bows are 100k xx ectos...
You have more golds drops... you have good colectors to get nice weapows...
You have better rewards froms quests... good rewards from chests... have elona treasures from 100k each month... and the more important GW GOLD AGE ( and i not talking about money here...) finish...
Get money and stuff are a lot easyer... and stuff prices down a lot...
And about Eternal Blade its just someone trying to up price of a rare sword with a false bid only it...
P.S Eternal Blade worth only 500k to me...

Yeah.
There were peopel with tens of millions of gold. But those people could not afford to drop it all on one item. You only really saw people spending / offering all they had waaaay back in the day for like R8 15>50 Crystallines.
Now you see people offering like 5000 ecto as if its nothing to them for a mini pet or something...
And you knew who all the insanely rich people were e.g. akh, spil, nef, lgw etc. Now there are complete randoms and noobs with that kinda of wealth.

Agreed.
Before the duping incident, people who are rich are usually quite famous.
Now, we see random people bidding 100k + xxx ectos + xx armbrace every other day.

Yeah, thats what I meant, nowadays if you have a couple of stacks of ectos by trading/farming or whatever and want to buy an item, you get overpowered by those that might have gotten their money in an ''illegal'' manner...

I've even noticed in the last while, the price of elite tomes has dropped drastically, due to farming. I recall Elite Necro tomes going for 15k upward, now you'd be lucky to sell at 5k

uh? i'm still selling tomes rather easily necro14k ele/monk/necro10k war/mesm/sin/rang7k... got the impression that elite tomes prices went up a little actualy
but ye agree. people that worked hard to earn few stacks of ectos wouldnt bid them all on something stupid like pets.
i mean, there are like 4-5 r8 15^50 crystallines that we know of, at least 2 we're sure have been customized... pandas/island guardian/vizu/shirokens.. dozen of these.

See anything suspicious here? Why would someone sell an item one day later for a HUGE loss. Are we getting rid of duplicated armbraces/ecto/gold here?!?
I mean seriously, am i the only one who find this VERY suspicious..
And why the hell is an admin backing him up, is there one big duplicating gang going on there?!?
*ups just found out that this was already posted in this thread, sorry. I was on to this the day he posted. I pmed the guy and told him that i was going to report his supspicious behaviour. But before i could even post on gwgru the no bid admin (400 ecto isnt a bid....whatever) banned me.*

People with 5000 ectos doesnt really surprise me, its the guys with 250+ ambraces that does.
The reason being its very easy to aquire ectos, you can simply buy them from the merch and players are always selling them. If a player started in 2005 and only ran one char, didnt buy anything over 100k, he could easily amass 1000ectos just by normal play. Now picture a farmer that picks up 5-10ecto a day, an easy thing to do.
What I don't get is how you find 250+ people that have an ambrace and are willing to sell it, within the first month they were availible. Even now after its been around for quite some time you won't find more than 1-2 people a day selling just a single ambrace, so how do you get 250+ in so short a time?

By trading
Many high end items get inflated after the duping incident. If you purchase a panda for 300+ ectos in the past (i hope i did not remember the price wrongly) and resell it now, you will get the inflated 100k + 1500ectos + xxx armbrace.
However if you are questioning the why there are so many armbraces around: Duping

Pandas were like rly rly cheap back in the day. I remember turning one down for 100 ectos in like months ago. Thats only like thousands of thouasands ecto profit.... At least there is nothing to spend it on

400 ecto sounds like a bid to me
-reading that thread it seems the admin in question is banning anyone who bids on the item, and saying banned for non bid, when they all have obvious bids in their post... :S
maybe guru should take the initiative, and just eliminate high end and ban anyone trying to sell anything for over 100k
(since 100k was supposed to be the trade limit by design)
lol

I disagree.
Anet knew items would go higher than 100k.
Beta testing etc. would have shown them this. The ease with which gold could be made then making items with low drop rates,
